How To Quit Smoking That's the million dollar question, isn't it? How does anyone quit smoking? There's probably as many ways and paths to quitting smoking successfully as there are smokers in the world. But the one commonality amongst all people who have quit smoking is that - they stop smoking. When you break it down to it's most common and simplest formula, the only way to quit smoking is to NOT smoke.
The biggest step however is a realization that you want to stop smoking. It's unfortunate seeing unapologetic smokers knowingly defiant and carrying some sort of self-righteous banner. Fortunately, this is becoming more and more uncommon. The prevalent attitude is that smoking is a legal form of self-mutilation and assisted longterm suicide. Those caught in the throes of the addiction to nicotine now trying to break it's hold are turning to anything that can magically take the addiction away. But there is no magic pill. That being said, some do quit as if by magic. How do they do it? It generally begins with learning about what they are actually doing. Weighing the pros and cons of smoking and slowly begin the realization that whatever gains they were receiving from smoking were not gains at all. And a cold realization of what's to come if they continue. The smoker has such a vivid picture and visualization that they can virtually see it as if it were real and it all becomes clear. And then, they quit. And it's rather easy. So how do you quit? Continue your research. Continue searching out information that will gradually materialize in your mind a graphic picture of your life if you were to choose to continue to smoke. Then it will be your experience as well, to simply quit. |
